A low-cost, low-power all-in-one solution for: ultrasound research, new imaging methods implementation and evaluation, as well as biomedical engineering student training.


mUSG is a low-cost, 32channel ultrasound research system with direct software access to raw RF signals (ie. channel data). The system consists of an ultrasound front-end module with a USB 3.0/PCIe interface and an optional embedded PC with CPU+GPU. Fully programmable transmit, receive and processing functions predispose the mUSG to research and educational applications. A novel ultrasound system architecture is optimized for GPU-based software processing. Ready-to-use synthetic aperture image reconstruction algorithms are available (eg. plane wave imaging, STA). The user’s own algorithms can be easily developed using standard CUDA/OpenCL frameworks enabling real-time implementation of custom image processing methods.

      • USB 3.0 SuperSpeed (optional PCIe Gen 2) real-time streaming of raw RF data to PC
